2. Take a Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour
Duration: 1 to 1.5 hours
Since motorized vehicles aren't allowed on the island, a horse-drawn carriage tour is a great way to see the island. The tours cover the island's highlights, including Arch Rock, historic homes, and scenic spots.

Arch Rock is one of Mackinac Island's most famous landmarks. You can take a carriage tour or walk to the rock (it’s about a 1/2 mile hike from the main street). The view from the top is stunning!

Renting a bike and riding around the island is one of the most popular activities. You’ll ride along the 8-mile perimeter of the island, with stunning views of Lake Huron and the island’s lush landscape. The ride is relatively easy and flat, with plenty of opportunities for stops and photos.

Stroll along the historic Main Street, which is lined with charming shops, boutiques, and cafes. You can enjoy a treat like a fudge (the island is famous for its fudge), and enjoy the picturesque surroundings.
