ACVO Career Fair

Thursday, October 24th
2:00pm - 3:30pm

Registration is now Closed.

*Information has changed from prior years, please review ALL information before registering. Residencies/Internships will be given priority.

A limited number of tables are available due to space limitations.

The Career fair will provide a connection point for those seeking a residency, internship, or employment position(s) with those who are seeking to fill such positions.

*The ACVO Career Fair will be held Thursday, 10/24 from 2:00pm - 3:30pm. ACVO understands that the Career Fair will overlap some sessions. We will continue to record all on-site sessions and make these available on a complimentary basis to attendee’s post-conference.

Event Description

Promotion of an internship, residency, or job position at the Career Fair is an ACVO member benefit, non-members or entities who do not currently have an ACVO Member employed full time at their facility may not reserve a table.

The primary purpose of this event is to:

  • Provide a networking opportunity to connect potential residents with ACVO Members, or their employer representative, that oversee an ABVO-approved residency program. (Complimentary)

  • Assist ACVO Members offering an internship opportunity with outreach. (Complimentary)

  • When room allows, provide a social connection for ACVO Members, or their direct employer representative, who are seeking to hire for a veterinary ophthalmologist position at their clinic.

Guidelines

  • Host tables may represent one, two or all options.

  • ALL programs and clinics MUST pre-register by September 15th.

  • Representatives at tables must be registered as conference attendees.

Conference attendees are invited to visit ‘table-hosts’ in the Fair, who will be prepared to explain their offerings to interested parties. Each program will be expected to bring their own promotional materials for their table. Programs not hosting a table may also drop off flyers on a general informational table, if space allows. Each host table will be identified as either a residency, internship, employment opportunity, or a combination of any of the three in a visual manner. Additional cocktail seating will be scattered around where appropriate, to accommodate longer conversations as need.

If available, Career Fair participants will be able to add one PowerPoint slide to the Career Fair promo slideshow that may run on a monitor in the foyer of the conference all day Thursday and all-day Friday to promote their openings!

All attendees are welcome to attend this open event complimentary, on a flow basis. Non-alcoholic beverages being provided.

Interested in hosting a table?

Universities or Clinics with at least one ACVO Member employed full time at the facility, may choose to promote their residency program, internship, or employment opportunity at this fair (the member does not have to be the host at the table). Residencies and internships will be given priority over employment tables when space is limited. Pre-registration to host the table is required. Hosts must be a registered attendee of the ACVO/AVOT Conference.

Hosts are limited to one table per company and no more than two representatives per table; names to be provided at registration. Hosts are not allowed to ‘work the room’ and thus encroach on space around other tables. One entity may promote multiple opportunity types at their table (e.g. both a residency and internship, or all three if pre-registered to do so). Those hosting tables ‘could’ be placed next to a competitor; we do not guarantee placement but try to space tables when possible.
